Philip K. Dick Award nominee Cherie Priest is the latest addition to Phoenix Comicon’s growing author track.

Priest is best known for her ambitious “Clockwork Century” series, a steampunk epic set in an alternate 19th Century America where the Civil War still rages. The series, which recently concluded with the novella Jacaranda includes the Locus Award-winning zombie adventure, Boneshaker.

maplePriest is currently riding a wave of critical praise for her alternate history exploration of Lizzie Borden, Maplecroft. Examining why Borden took to whacking her parents (hint: because Cthulhu) and the ensuing terror that gripped her hometown of Falls River, the novel is a riveting example of Lovecraftian horror, blending fact and fiction into one of the best books of 2015.

Her latest, the YA I Am Princess X, hits stores on May 26, just in time for Comicon.

Priest will attend every day of Comicon.
