Phoenix Comicon adds two returning guests

chuck_windigTwo more authors are returning to Phoenix Comicon.

Author, screenwriter and cranky blogger Chuck Wendig was one of the stars of last year’s Batsu Game and is a member of the Holy Taco Church. His latest novel, the YA crime mystery Atlanta Burns, hit stores in January.

aftermath_new_6_red_ Wendig recently announced he will be tackling the Star Wars Universe with the upcoming Aftermath. Due in September, the novel picks up immediately after the defeat of the Empire on Endor. The novel kicks off the “Journey to The Force Awakens” campaign in the new Star Wars Universe.

max_brooksMax Brooks, who previously appeared at the 2011 Comicon, is America’s foremost literary expert on the Zombie Apocalypse. The author of The Zombie Survival Guide and the acclaimed World War Z (forget the movie, just stick with the book), Brooks has also made a name in comics. The son of comic legend Mel Brooks and his wife Anne Bancroft, Brooks is now the writer of the acclaimed comics The Extinction Parade and Harlem Hellfighters.

Both authors will attend all days of the Convention. Wendig will also be at Kevin Hearne’s “Elevengeddon” at the Poisoned Pen on Wednesday, May 27.

About Michael Senft

I am a freelance writer and critic from Phoenix Arizona. I spent 10 years covering music, the arts and pop culture for the “Arizona Republic” before life circumstances took me away from newspaper. But I never lost my joy at writing. Or reading.
