Award-winning cli-fi author coming to Changing Hands Phoenix

water knifePaolo Bacigalupi, the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of The Windup Girl, is coming to the Valley on Thursday, June 4. He will meet fans and sign copies of his new novel, The Water Knife at the Phoenix location of Changing Hands Bookstore. Tickets are required for the signing, two free with purchase of The Water Knife from Changing Hands.

The Water Knife, which is available on May 26, is a “cli-fi” thriller set in a dystopian American Southwest. Drought and global warming have rendered much of the American South and Southwest uninhabitable, with Las Vegas, Phoenix and California competing for the dwindling waters of the Colorado River. The novel follows a journalist and a Las Vegas tough as they follow a trail of bodies in the parched streets of Phoenix leading to a mysterious new source of water that could change the political struggle for resources. Think post-apocalyptic Chinatown.

And keep an eye out here and at for an interview with Bacigalupi in the coming weeks!
