I’ve written extensively about this event because I think it’s a great idea. The Valley has a vibrant community of fans and authors — I’ve seen them at signings and at Comic Con. Now we have a chance to build something cool, to make the Valley a destination stop for touring authors, to create a regular sci-fi event where fans and authors can meet and mingle.

So permit me one more bit of promotion (actually, there might be another coming tomorrow as well) — here is a story I wrote on the event for the Arizona Republic. Thanks Lee Whiteside for organizing the event and thanks to Victor Milán, Jane Lindskold and Melinda Snodgrass for participating in the inaugural event.

edge of dawnThere will be readings, signings, books for sale courtesy of the Poisoned Pen, conversation, coffee and BEER!

Come out and support this. These events don’t happen without an audience, and the more people who show up from the start means that more publishers will include us on their tour routes.
