Authors, Tacos and Fish n’ Chips

Kevin Hearne - credit Kimberly HearnePhoenix fantasy fans can hang with the Tacopope this weekend as Kevin Hearne returns to his old stomping grounds for a pair of events.

On Sunday, Hearne, along with fellow Holy Taco Church members Beth Cato and Sam Sykes, will be at the Arizona Taco Festival at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, enjoying tacos and margaritas. Stop by, enjoy some food and drink and pose for a selfie or two. No word if Sykes will be dressed as a luchador.

Monday night will find Hearne at Rula Bula in Tempe. Yes, Iron Druid fans, it is a real place, and you can find out if the fish n’ chips are as good as Atticus and Oberon say (I personally prefer the bangers and mash). There won’t be any books for sale, but Hearne promises to sign any you bring. The fun starts at 5 p.m., and make sure to get there early — it sounds like the crowd will be pretty massive.

About Michael Senft

I am a freelance writer and critic from Phoenix Arizona. I spent 10 years covering music, the arts and pop culture for the “Arizona Republic” before life circumstances took me away from newspaper. But I never lost my joy at writing. Or reading.
